The Palmer House was once the center of Chicago’s high society, having hosted a long list of prominent figures, including former U.S. presidents, Charles Dickens, and Oscar Wilde. The Golden Empire Dining Room of Palmer House was also an entertainment epicenter. It hosted legendary entertainers, including Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Harry Belafonte, Louis Armstrong, and Liberace. In recent years, the Palmer House has undergone extensive renovations to ensure that the hotel includes 21st century conveniences and comforts while preserving is historic outlook.
